Tara’s Fashion Take
The Miami insider snaps some of the best-dressed socialites as they celebrate the holidays.
Miami at the holidays is always a fun scene, with all the social sets from around the world converging in our tropical paradise. It was an especially international vibe at Colin Cowe and Danny Peuscovich’s festive holiday party at their chic residence overlooking Biscayne Bay, held on a school night the week after Art Basel, with happy chatter in a variety of languages overhead on the balcony over cocktails served in elegant crystal coupes. We of course are obsessed with creative alphas, and it doesn’t get any more creative, or alpha, than Colin, whose new book, “The Gold Standard: Giving Your Customers What They Didn’t Know They Wanted,” was just published by Harper Collins, and is such a good read.
One thing about Colin: he is specific… about everything. In admiring his biomorphic Vladimir Kagan sofa, upholstered in the most beautiful fawn velvet, we noted how the museum-worthy piece appeared to be floating, to which Colin replied that the effect was intentional – he always decorates with open space around a room’s perimeter, a design tip we promptly texted ourselves.
At celeb hair stylist Danny Jelaca’s Christmas Party at the Bass Museum, held last Saturday night, the swans were out in full force, with fanciful ensembles including Anette Prats in a ruby crystal jumpsuit and a twist-tie Jelaca-ized coif and fitness queen Jennifer Nicole Lee with full-on 1990s supermodel hair, wearing a revealing flesh-toned micro-sequin gown that reminded us that we need to get to the gym sometime very soon.
Miami society queen bee Lydia Touzet and husband Rudy Touzet hosted an intimate party for The Underline at their stately home in Coral Gables, where donors and supporters of the 10-mile linear park, which recently debuted its first phase, enjoyed holiday cheer and a final catchup before everyone goes their separate ways for Christmas break.
And because life can’t be just about glitz and glam, we were happy to see our friend Aaron Resnick – a longtime Miami Beach resident, lawyer, community leader and supporter of the arts, who is indeed glamorous in his own way, be inducted as the 2022 president of the Miami Beach Bar Association by none other than City of Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber, at the MBBA’s 75th anniversary party at The Moxy South Beach.
