Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean inaugurates a new collection display dedicated to its holdings in fashion curated by Luxembourg-based design consultant Sarah Zigrand.

Presented at Mudam for the first time, the selection features pieces by nine designers from Europe and Asia that date from the turn of the 21st century. They represent a pivotal period in which fashion echoed critical changes taking place in society. These include shifts in both ideas and behaviour that emerged at that time with the growth of the internet and digital technologies, accelerating globalisation and the challenging of gender stereotypes . Installed within a specially conceived exhibition design by architect Georges Zigrand, the exhibition seeks to reflect the hybrid nature of fashion at this time and the intersection of a diversity of design attitudes.

Designers: Hussein Chalayan (b. 1970, Nicosia, Cyprus), Helmut Lang (b. 1956, Vienna), Martin Margiela (b. 1957, Louvain, Belgium), Hiroaki Ohya (b. 1970, Kumamoto, Japan), Grit and Jerszy Seymour (b. 1966, Halle, Germany / b. 1968, Berlin), Walter Van Beirendonck (b. 1957, Brecht, Belgium), Junya Watanabe (b. 1961, Fukushima, Japan), Bernhard Willhelm (b. 1972, Ulm, Germany)
Curator: Sarah Zigrand
Exhibition design: Georges Zigrand
